Fun at the Park

Spring is finally here and we've been able to enjoy much longer stints at the park. Dennis comes home a little bit earlier during summer semester so we can sometimes go play before dinner time. William gets a little crazy and just walks off the slide sometimes, and as shown here he doesn't always end up straight.

Emma... how do we say it without being too biased? She loves to run! The other day at the park she was following "Charlie" around. He started to run laps around the perimeter of the playground, and naturally Emma had to follow. After a time Charlie started getting tired and Emma kept on going. He'd sit down to rest but when she'd lap him he'd jump up and try his hardest to beat her but would have to sit down again. He ended up collapsing from fatigue several times. His grandpa kept on telling him to stop because he was obviously too tired but Charlie ignored him. They were both breathing really hard. Eventually Charlie's grandpa had to take pity on him and force him to leave. Emma did a few more laps for completeness and then stopped. Charlie was almost six years old and Emma will be three in July. Emma's not competitive, she just likes to have fun. I knew Dennis would be really proud of Emma, and when I told him the story he pumped his fists and said, "YES!" We're not obsessed-with-running-competitive-parents are we? We just like our kids to be active and healthy.

William is getting the capability to act more and more silly each day. I wonder where he gets it?
Here he's eating a "dang quesadilla" and mimicking funny faces from his dad. We sure do love this age.

More Chicken Please!

Here's a little video (kind of long) showing some dinner times:
